This brief examines the migration policies adopted by several Western nations and their potential impact on immigrants and asylum seekers. In the case of Israel, the brief's author contends that its standard of living and proximity to conflict-torn areas in the Middle East and Africa make it particularly vulnerable to illegal immigration. Tel Aviv must therefore adopt a clear, resolute policy to meet this particular challenge.
