This brief highlights the criticisms surrounding the US' use of UAVs to kill suspected terrorists. As the text’s author sees it, the criticisms unnecessarily conflate two separate discussions into one -- the act of conducting targeted killings and the means used to achieve this specific end. To break the link, the US should be more transparent about the program, which would then ideally boost the public’s confidence in the effectiveness of UAVs.
