This issue of Conflict Trends contains seven articles on assorted Africa-centered topics. The articles specifically center on 1) female combatants in Africa and elsewhere; 2) targeted sanctions and how they can undermine peace in South Sudan; 3) emerging military-society interaction and political change in Cameroon; 4) the motivations of warlords and the role of militias in the Central African Republic; 5) South Sudan – Uganda relations; 6) the contribution of the extraordinary African chambers to the consolidation of peace in Africa; and 7) a peace journalism approach to reporting African elections.
