This brief reminds us that Zimbabwe remains mired in a chronic state of crisis. In particular, the political infighting over who will succeed the ailing Robert Mugabe is stifling efforts to tackle the country's financial insolvency, perfunctory commitment to the rule of law, rampant unemployment and widespread food insecurity. Given all its pathologies, Zimbabwe needs international help in order to recover, but it also needs leaders who are willing to enact desperately needed reforms.
