This paper outlines global developments in nuclear disarmament between 2013 and early 2016. Among other issues, the text’s authors look at 1) UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s efforts to create a nuclear weapons-free world; 2) the UN General Assembly’s recent nuclear disarmament activities; 3) what transpired at the 2015 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference; 4) the ongoing attempts to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1540; and 5) the efforts to draw further attention to the humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons.
