This edition of the RAD first analyses the current state of Russia-Ukraine gas trade and provides an outlook for the future, noting how this area of commerce has been unable to disentangle itself from politics. It then looks at the legal, economic, environmental and political arguments involved in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline dispute, including how the European Commission is attempting to prevent this Gazprom pipeline expansion project by extending EU law to the open sea.
