To what extent should social media and online video platforms be held responsible for the content of uploads by third parties? Is a regime of voluntary moderation and removal undertaken by these platforms better than an approach based on government interference and restrictive legislation? Finally, can a balance be struck between freedom and responsibility online? This article wrestles with these questions and more.
