This report provides information on causes and consequences of the humanitarian crisis related to the long-lasting armed conflict in Colombia. After an introduction, the report firstly discusses forced internal displacements in Columbia with a focus on causes, dimensions and social consequences. Next, the report addresses other aspects of the humanitarian crisis such as besieged communities, child soldiers, missing persons and refugees. The concluding parts review government responses and the role of humanitarian agencies. The report argues that the humanitarian crisis in Colombia has reached unprecedented dimensions.
