This report addresses problems and developments of Bolivia’s domestic political situation with a focus on natural resources, economic policy and the majority indigenous population. The paper presents a short historical summary, a summary on the establishment of the ruling government and an introduction to the various opposition movements, including Evo Morales’ movement, labor organizations and the Catholic Church. Subsequently, the paper discusses contentious issues that might influence developments on the natural gas issue, regional divergence, the cultivation of Coca and economic policy.
