This paper looks at the relationship between European integration and national foreign and security policy. The author examines how and to what extent the development of a specifically EU foreign and security policy has lead to adaptations and changes in national foreign and security policies. The paper examines how and to what extent the dominant French national discourse on foreign and security policy has been impacted by EU driven policy changes since the early 1990s.
