This paper discusses European identity in terms of Europe's relations to some of its constituting others. The author discusses the concept of collective identity in the context of Europe. Emphasizing the importance of not sealing itself off from its Muslim citizens and neighbors, the paper concludes with a plea for Turkish EU membership.
