This paper explores the importance of knowledge for further economic growth and development in China, India and Singapore with a focus on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The development of knowledge industries, the implementation of intellectual property rights in the pharmaceutical industry and critical developments in biotechnology are the paper’s focus. The study argues that India and China must join hands and take the lead in developing products of innovation that would benefit the Third World with Singapore as a facilitator of cooperation.
