This paper attempts to conceptualize some typologies for the Indian diaspora and its role in international relations. The paper develops a matrix of typologies of actors and models in Indian diaspora, asks what the occupations of the Indian emigrants have and explores the image and identity of the Indian diaspora in the US and the UK. The paper explores the importance of academic education as a door opener to the global labor market. Finally, the paper discusses changes in the attitude of the Indian homeland toward its emigrants.
