This report focuses on the role of international financial institutions (IFI) in the implementation and enforcement of international humanitarian law. The paper asks whether there can be a role for IFIs in the field of human rights by incorporating human rights into their policymaking processes. Subsequently, the paper explores potential opportunities for IFIs to contribute, including to collecting and sharing information. The paper argues that economic development and stability cannot be separated from conflict and post-conflict reconstruction and presents proposals on how IFIs could make contributions to international human law development.
