This report explores religious aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, using evidence from interviews conducted with clerics, educators and peace activists. The report discusses the role of religion in conflict, introduces the developments of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the collapse of the Oslo peace accord, and outlines statements made during the Alexandria religious summit. Subsequently, the report addresses several religious peace building initiatives, including grassroots inter-religious dialogues and symbolic rituals. The report argues that the inclusion of religious leaders and educators is necessary to heal the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
