Publication

This paper outlines courses and results of training programs focusing on conflict management and prevention, capacity building and mediation that were supported by the United States Institute of Peace. This paper highlights some of the training programs supported and shares lessons learned from them. The training projects took place in China, countries of the former Yugoslavia, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Somalia/Somaliland and Southeastern Europe. In particular, the programs focused on strengthening institutions devoted to conflict management, training of conflict management trainers and broader agendas.
