This publication examines why, according to a poll by the German Marshall Fund, Spain’s feelings toward the US are the coldest in Europe after Turkey. The author identifies six main elements that have over the years molded Spaniards’ feelings toward the US, starting from the Spanish-American War of 1898 to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
