As the title suggests, this paper assesses Spain’s global presence, primarily by reviewing its economic, military and soft power means. Some of the report's key findings include that 1) Spanish direct investment abroad remains strong and exports of goods and services have surged; 3) tourism continues to grow; 4) the country has successfully absorbed some 6 million migrants; 5) its military presence, which accounts for a smaller part of Spain's global presence, has held up; and 6) development cooperation has declined.
