This paper investigates Serbia’s political landscape, as the country's internal stability is seen as one of the preconditions for the stability of the Balkans region. The author argues that political fragility in Serbia is a result of its too fragmented and unsettled party scene, which prevents development of coalitions and stable and sustainable governments. The author finds that unstable coalitions have very damaging implications for the whole political, legal and moral system, as the government has to spend the majority of its energies on bare survival, on permanent redistributions of sinecures and privileges.
