This publication provides a systematic overview of the political and economic situation in Albania in 1999 and 2000. The author gives a structured introduction to such issues as domestic politics, foreign policy, organized crime, drug trafficking, economic development and pan-Albanian nationalism. The publication concludes with an examination of Albanian relations with the West.
