Publication
Feb 2007
This publication analyzes the Ahtisaari Report, which was published on 2 February 2007, and sets out a vision of supervised self-rule for Kosovo, without the word "independence" being used anywhere in it. The author argues that the report is an important milestone which opens up new perspectives. Nevertheless, the publication claims that it contains difficult ambiguities, which may mean that the report does not contribute to regional stability as much as its authors hoped. Further on, the author finds that on some issues such as heritage, citizenship and opening a road to possible partition, the report contains major concessions to traditional Serbian nationalism.
