This paper discusses the emergence of Ali Ahmeti as one of the main political leaders of the Albanian minority in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). This author outlines the political positions and future goals of Ahmeti and his party. The paper explains that the formation of the ethnic Albanian party in FYROM could result in political difficulties for the Macedonian national election in September 2002.
