This paper discusses the prospects for a peaceful, undivided and democratic Europe, summarizing the findings of a respective working group meeting. The paper presents possible development scenarios for Europe, identifies important necessary qualities and looks for opportunities for achieving a stable peace in Europe. Subsequently, the paper reviews Russia's role within Europe and its relations with the US, examines challenges for enlarging the EU and sheds light on the state of the trans-Atlantic relations. The paper calls for the US to accept that Europe might share its vision, but not the strategy for achieving this vision.
