This paper discusses the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic in March 2003. The author discusses the far-reaching impact of the murder for political reforms and pro-Western orientation in Serbia. The paper explains that the assassination can be seen as part of the process of post-conflict "score settling" or as a product of organized crime.
