This report briefs the findings of a seminar on post-conflict reconciliation and historical education. The seminar explored how divided societies recovering from violent conflict can teach the conflict's history, so as not to reignite it or contribute to further cycles of violence and to participate in a larger reconciliation process. The report examines the interplay between history, identity and education, the relationship between post-conflict reconstruction and history education, the content of the education, pedagogic challenges and evaluation.
