This paper discusses the territory, economic resources and governance of minority ethnic groups and indigenous peoples in different conflict areas. The author argues that in order to end civil war, minority groups must be included as full citizens in a unified nation. He also argues that tensions and conflict in divided societies often arise because groups have deep-seated prejudices about each other and feel threatened.
