This report discusses the conflict history of Congo since the overthrow of former Zairian dictator Mobutu Sese Seko. The contributors describe how several times since the disintegration of former Zaire, Congo has exploded into a multi-country conflict sparked by regional efforts to overthrow a sitting government. The report provides suggestions on how to achieve successful peacebuilding in Congo and outlines several of the responsibilities the international community must follow in order to make possible a peaceful reconstruction of the country.
