This publication examines how stability can be achieved in Europe's neighboring regions by looking at three conflict case studies: Kosovo, Transdniestria and Abkhazia. The author analyzes the conflict dynamics in each of the cases and discusses and suggests how these dynamics can be changed. He recommends political initiatives for overcoming social divisions, the creation of economic incentives for peace and an active implication of the international community in conflicts.
