This paper discusses the political stability in Albania before and after the parliamentary elections of 1997. The paper describes the fall of the Democratic Party due to the collapse of the financial pyramid schemes and the following period with a socialist government. The author examines the country's constitutional reform, economy and foreign policy and the impact of the Kosovo crisis on the country in the same period.
