It introduces the changes to the global economic system induced by technology and economic liberalization, examines changes in the nature of relations between labor and capital and identifies emerging opportunities for Indian labor under these changed circumstances. Subsequently, it looks at areas of concern such as the sustainability of outsourcing, the implications of intellectual property protection and limits to growth of the information technologies industries and delineates the likely effects for the poor laboring classes of India.
