This paper discusses how to secure India's energy supply, commenting on regional and international implications. It examines India's growing demand for oil and gas, identifies related energy challenges and outlines a national energy security strategy. Subsequently, the paper looks at a possible Indian role in Eurasian oil and gas projects. The author states that India needs to give much greater attention to the Gulf countries and should establish its independent military presence in this region in consultation with the concerned states.
