Should the US require the Russia Today (RT) media organization to register as an ‘agent of a foreign principle’? To answer this question, this publication examines 1) the extent of RT’s autonomy from the Russian government; 2) RT’s organizational structure; 3) how RT compares to international public broadcasters such as the BBC and Deutsche Welle, and more. The text´s author concludes by suggesting that her findings suggest that the US should, at the very least, conduct a thorough investigation into the case of RT in line with its 1938 ´Foreign Agents Registrations Act´ (FARA).
