This publication analyzes Sino-Korean relations. Key insights include 1) that China aims to consolidate a regional system in North East Asia based on the economic integration of the two Koreas and possibly Japan into the eastern reaches of its New Silk Road, as well as a new security system based on Beijing's partnership with Moscow; 2) both Koreas have already delved into this new regional order and its potential economic benefits; 3) President Xi Jinping’s new policy toward Korea is a 'two-track strategy' that seeks to separate the peace negotiations between North and South Korea from the US-North Korea denuclearization negotiations, and more.
