This report argues that US subordination of its relations with Asia to other foreign policy goals means the US will incur ever greater costs as Asia continues to develop. The authors argue that current US foreign policy paradigms are not applicable to relations with Asia and that it is necessary to form a new paradigm based not on the balance of power but the power of balance. The report suggests a new reality: "iAsia." The challenges Asia represents to the US are identified and then pragmatic solutions to these challenges proposed.
