This case study provides a comparative analysis of the disarmament programs of five East African nations (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda). The authors argue that while progress has been made by the five nations, it is imperative that the international community assist these disarmament campaigns. In addition to summarizing the efforts of these nations, the case study also includes some general policy recommendations to improve resource mobilization by the international community.
