The paper analyzes the situation of the Serbian military after Kosovo’s declaration of independence. The author argues that the nature of security sector reform in Serbia depends on its future foreign policy orientation which will be determined by the Serbian parliamentary elections in May 2008. The democrats would most likely continue the integration into Euro-Atlantic structures while the nationalists prefer closer cooperation with Russia.
