This report focuses on the peace processes that currently involve the Philippines Government, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), and competing factions of the Moro National Liberation Front’s (MNLF). More specifically, the text 1) reviews the previous agreements reached between the government and Muslim rebels in the country’s south; 2) discusses the dangers of delaying current peace-enabling legislation; and 3) highlights the measures President Rodrigo Duterte should take to sustain and conclude current peace efforts.
