This publication contends that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which forms a key part of Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative, will require the US to reorient its strategy and policies towards Islamabad. The text’s author also examines 1) how the project could create opportunities to increase development, stability and security in South Asia; 2) how the CPEC could test Pakistan’s political and social governance abilities; 3) why India may try to contain the initiative, and more.
