The five articles in this CEJISS issue focus on 1) global power shifts, particularly with regard to the changing positing and role of the US; 2) how Syria’s Alawite community views the ongoing war in the country as well as how international engagement with this minority could help end the conflict; 3) the features and objectives of Turkey’s approach to humanitarian diplomacy; 4) the impact of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank on China’s relations with Central Asia’s post-Soviet states; and 5) China’s development model, with a particular focus on China’s development activities in Ghana.
