This report provides a series of recommendations that have one goal in mind – to ensure that the US Army remains the preeminent ground force in the world for the rest of the 21st century. The text’s authors compartmentalize their proposals into three distinct time periods: today (2016-2020); tomorrow (2020-2025); and the day after tomorrow (2025-2040 and beyond). Their specific recommendations include 1) adjusting force structures to meet operational requirements more effectively; 2) strengthening the Army’s strategic mobility and presence, while also mastering the intricacies of urban operations; and 3) transforming Army culture, to include pursuing personnel reforms and broadening definitions of service.
