This brief explores the past and current problems raised by North Korea’s nuclear program, and whether there are any insights provided by the Korean experience that could help guide the international community’s dealings with Iran. In the latter case, the text’s author concludes that the benefits of the JCPOA will most likely be short-lived and that Iran will continue to develop its nuclear capabilities.
