This paper maintains that Western ascendancy over Asia, considered to have started over 500 years ago with the voyages of Vasco da Gama, is coming to a close. US unipolarity is giving way to an Asia-centric, multipolar international order of six great powers: the US, the EU, China, India, Russia and Japan. To sketch the future landscape of the society of states, the author analyzes each state's interests and ambitions.
