This paper constitutes of an analysis of the regional security system of the Caspian Sea region. The author discusses the roles and aspirations of Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and the US. He concludes that the future prospects for the region do not look good as the lack of a comprehensive legal agreement on the Caspian Sea ensures that disputes can easily arise.
