This paper addresses the vulnerable situation of Ingushetia in the Russian Federation and in the North Caucasus. The author discusses ethnic and territorial issues as well as the relations to Chechnya, North Ossetia and the central government of Russia. He predicts that Ingushetia, on account of its size, will always be at the mercy of its larger neighbors and the federal center.
