This paper 1) reviews the plans and processes that have been adopted to invigorate Mozambique's stability two decades after the country’s civil war; and 2) highlights the current and future impediments to the continued consolidation of peace. Some of the key planning details covered include those that address demobilization, disarmament and reintegration (DDR); economic and social development; the decentralization of power; justice reforms; and natural resource investments.
