This paper focuses on the causes and consequences of climate change in Spain as well as the actions taken and planned to mitigate and adapt to it. The author analyzes mitigation and adaptation costs and presents cost estimates, highlighting the preliminary nature of available studies and the need to broaden the knowledge of the economic costs of Spain’s actions. The analysis concludes with a presentation of the latest guidelines for the post-Kyoto negotiations.
