This bulletin reports on the 29 June 2008 parliamentary elections in Mongolia and the political paralysis and violence that followed. It investigates the political parties involved, the role of natural resources in Mongolian politics and the enfeebled state of the governing coalition. The author points to the 2009 presidential elections as potentially decisive in determining the future of Mongolia's struggling democracy.
