This paper examines the crisis of the Cuban regime. It looks at the historical crossroads of Cuba, the rise of Raúl Castro as the head of state and possible scenarios for future development. The author provides conclusions and practical recommendations on policies to be followed by third parties that wish to facilitate a gradual, agreed and nonviolent democratic transformation of the Cuban regime.
