This article discusses Russia's foreign policy under President Vladimir Putin and the West's continued suspicion of Russia's ambitions. It considers particularly the narrative either side employs to generate suspicion and analyzes key aspects of Russia's foreign policy. The author argues the presidency of George W Bush has done much to reinforce skepticism in both the Western and Russian camps.
