This paper looks at the deadlocked negotiations between Zimbabwe's governing ZANU-PF party and the Movement for Democratic Chance (MDC), suggesting ways to overcome the political and humanitarian crisis of the country. It reviews the regulations of the Global Political Agreement (GPA), describes how subsequent negotiations stalled and investigates why international pressure remained ineffective. Subsequently, the paper reviews Zimbabwe's deteriorating domestic situation, asks whether this justifies a robust international intervention and outlines a plan to overcome the situation.
